About Gerry Lantaigne
Gerry Lantaigne is a graduate of The Ontario College of Art and Design, where he spent three years studying set design and scenic painting at the college’s off Campus Program in New York City. Gerry has applied his skills in the sign and mural industry in Toronto and Montreal. In 1997 Lantaigne created The Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery located in the Huntsville/Lake of Bays and Algonquin Park areas. The Outdoor Gallery is a world class mural program and has become a huge success with over 80 murals in the collection to date. The success of the Outdoor Gallery brought him face to face with the World Leaders during the G8 Summit in Huntsville, Ontario. In the Summer of 2010, Lantaigne acted as art director to the World Leaders, instructing them to add their own brush strokes to help paint one of the murals in the Galleries collection. An experience he describes as a “surreal event, they were all very interested in painting and really enjoyed themselves”. Gerry currently lives in Huntsville and is actively pursuing his career as an artist while creating and expanding upon other mural collections throughout Canada and the United States.
